Interests

I am looking to go into the live production side of the poultry industry.  I love feed milling because of the complexity of machinery and nutrition.  I am interested in the effects of different diets and feed mill factors that can make poultry more efficient.  With that being said, I want to pursue graduate school and focus in nutrition. I look forward to trying to find new techniques to make growing poultry easier.

Experience

  • Powell Brothers Farm Hand

    • My first summer job started at my grandparents farm during the summer between my ninth and tenth grade year of high school.  I worked on the farm every summer until I graduated high school.  I did fence work and installed water troughs for cattle.  We worked cows regularly and there was a good bit of tractor work that had to be done as well.

  • ProImpact Physical Therapy Intern

    • ProImpact is a physical therapy practice in Montgomery, Alabama.  This internship took place in the spring semester of my senior year of high school.  I learned about physical therapy and different techniques that are used.

  • Advantage Forest Resources Intern

    • I worked for Advantage Forest Resources during the summer before my first semester in college.  I learned about the timber industry.  I was able to see logging, transport, saw milling, and finished product distribution.

  • Auburn University Research Farm

    • When I first came to Auburn University, I began working at the research farm.  This work gave me the opportunity to learn how research trials are held.  It also gave me an opportunity to learn about poultry in a hands-on environment.

  • Auburn University Research  Feed Mill

    • The Auburn University Research Feed Mill is where I currently work.  The feed milling and nutrition side of the industry is what I am interested in.  This gives me the opportunity to learn first-hand about this pivotal part of our industry.
